500 NEW BOOKS!!

What an exciting summer for the Trinity Library! In addition to the aesthetic and technological changes that were made, we have also enhanced the diversity and number of books available for the students to read. The reaction of the kids has been amazing! During the course of the summer we added over 500 new titles to the main library. That is a ten percent increase in books!

For the younger readers, the library has a new area devoted to “I Can Read” books. These books allow kids to develop confidence in reading by leveling the terminology that is used. These books cover a diversity of topics and are organized in a way that is easy for the kids to find their reading level.

One of the main focus areas of the library was building a solid selection of Junior Fiction novels. These are novels written primarily for 3rd to 5th graders. In order to work toward this goal, the library added over 20 new Magic Tree House books, in addition to beefing up on popular series like A to Z Mysteries, the Dragon Slayer’s Academy, Junie B. Jones, Marvel graphic novels, Geronimo Stilton, 39 Clues, Star Wars, Dear America, Hank Zipzer and more.

For the older grades we have added series books as well such as Harry Potter, Seekers, Percy Jackson, Artemis Fowl, Series of Unfortunate Events, and Beacon Street Girls.

For all grades, we have added a new “Christian Books” section that includes fiction and non-fiction books. From Veggie Tales to Janette Oke, children will have the opportunity to access a larger number of Christian- based novels and picture books.
We are working diligently to update the non-fiction area of our library. We were able to add quite a few new books, but there are many that are out- of-date and worn. We have applied for several grants to obtain money to purchase new books, so please keep the approval of these grants in your prayers.

We pray that your children are enjoying all of the new books that Trinity is providing for their use. We will continue to keep you updated on what new books are coming in and encourage you to use Destiny Quest with your children to assist them in choosing books. God Bless!
